"In Flander's FIeld"
A veteran reads the poem, "In Flanders FIeld," during the Memorial Day service in Hinsdale, Illinois, on May 30, 2016. The poem was written by Canadian artillery officer John McCrae during World War I. It describes poppies growing between crosses in Flanders Field, which became the inspiration for veterans to hand out red poppies each year.
