Georgia Street Community Garden
Wayne State University service-learning students and volunteers join Keep Growing Detroit to work with the Georgia Street Community Collective. The organization is a powerhouse of urban agriculture. Volunteers weed an extensive community garden, cleared brush from a lot to make way for free mulch and compost, and packed thousands of seeds for distribution through the Garden Resource Program. Of course, they make sure to leave time at the end to hang out with Georgia Street's goats, pigs and chickens.
